Stadsgardeville invites artists from London, Antwerpen, Rotterdam, Kortrijk and Gent. This year the Brussels based collective invites artists from different cities to shine their light on their beloved hometown, Brussels. They invited us and we came up with an installation we named 'city dance' . We were searching for a movement that we can identify with our thoughts about the city of Brussels. When we observe Brussels from a distance, we experience a breeding ground for ideas, a mixture of cultures and languages. Communities exist within communities. They interact, move past each other, not hindering each other, attracting and repelling. We wanted to translate this movement or 'dance' into a kinetic sculpture.'
